I love all the tradition around this special time of the year. I am a Mexican Folk Artist and I enjoy very much painting the Day of the Dead characters ~ La Catrina is one of my favourites! But I also love to paint the Mexican Ex-voto Retablos and use the Day of the Dead skeletons!

Muchas Gracias for all the fabulous stories & photos from Old Mexico!

RoMyRomyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09532560558004435776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2058205387307544791.post-62708178488563636102008-09-26T21:52:00.000-04:002008-09-26T21:52:00.000-04:00Cuckoo and Hobo,What i love about Day of the Dead ...Cuckoo and Hobo,
What i love about Day of the Dead is how families come together and it is not a morose affair. It's celebrating loved ones who are no longer here.

Lakshmi, you manage to put some mile behind you as well.

Catherine, I'll be showing up on your doorstep with a tripod in hand. Looking forward.

Matt, when you are back on this side of the earth you must go. This is the third year in a row I'll be in Mexico for Day of the Dead, each time in a different place.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10321288682066590760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2058205387307544791.post-37605390530245771792008-09-26T04:26:00.000-04:002008-09-26T04:26:00.000-04:00I've always wanted to go to the day of the dead in...I've always wanted to go to the day of the dead in mexico.....it seems like a right good time..

when did you go?Nomadic Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03302659356530720178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2058205387307544791.post-67602290719379679272008-09-25T23:09:00.000-04:002008-09-25T23:09:00.000-04:00Remember to bring equipment for night shots as the...Remember to bring equipment for night shots as there will be some amazing cemetery actuion in Patzcuaro this time...We will probably go to the one at TzinTzunTzan my favourite placename in Mexico.. it is Purrepecha for hummingbird... and onomatopoiec of courseCatherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06255193476024745869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2058205387307544791.post-53259345809186400062008-09-25T05:24:00.000-04:002008-09-25T05:24:00.000-04:00It is important to remember people who are no more...It is important to remember people who are no more with us.
Good post.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2058205387307544791.post-44672515541896252592008-09-25T04:17:00.000-04:002008-09-25T04:17:00.000-04:00fantastic shot..I would love to get there too..tel...fantastic shot..I would love to get there too..tell me your secret of travelling so much around the world :)Lakshmihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10131764134144215720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2058205387307544791.post-59832556529758425952008-09-24T21:35:00.000-04:002008-09-24T21:35:00.000-04:00It made me smile. :)But a nice way to remember our...It made me smile. :)
But a nice way to remember our forefathers.
I guess each country has something or the other.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2058205387307544791.post-80782141726917282972008-09-24T20:57:00.000-04:002008-09-24T20:57:00.000-04:00Monna, I can see why you'd miss Mexico so much.Ann...Monna, I can see why you'd miss Mexico so much.
Anne, I bet you would love it.
