Street Scenes: Shibuya Tokyo

When facing the oncoming crowd while waiting to cross the world’s busiest crosswalk in Shibuya, Tokyo you can’t help but think you will have to fight as if you are swimming upstream.

But not once in the many times I walked across was I body checked or shoved in any way. This is what I love about one of the most populous cities in the world.

walk through on a rainy day when all the umbrellas are up - it's a very different experience.

I miss Tokyo. My last trip was in '86! I was 13. Some things never change...

seems to be a real feature of crossing roads in Asian cities... in Ho Chi Minh you just have to have the confidence to walk straight across the road at a steady pace, and miraculously not one single motorcycle hits you!!
Great shot!!

That's definitely a vision that I remember about parts of Asia. In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam it was with motorbikes. That took some getting use to in order to cross.
