The back streets of Rome that connect its many piazzas are pedestrian friendly. There are few if any cars on the cobblestone lanes and alleys. Vespas circumvent those on foot.
Camp De Fiori pictured here is a neighborhood where getting lost is a pleasure. Many of its streets are named after the generations of artisans who toiled in them for centuries. It is possible to take in day to day Rome without being over run by hordes of tourists.

The cobblestone roads get me every time. There something about the road of these great European city that allow for great images.
Ah Roma! These images warm me even though there's not a trace in Chicago's frigid air.
Wendy - Once again, a lovely photo that sends me back to Rome. I love the Campo dei Fiori area with its market. I remember walking around with my husband, ciabatta loaf in one hand and a bottle of carciofi spread on the other. Ahh...I miss Rome...
Ah --this photo brings back memories. I love Rome!
Hi Claudia, Thank you for the kind words and for stopping by. Will pay a visit shortly.
Hi Gennaro, The great European cities are indeed beautiful.
Fly Girl, I thought NYC was bitter cold until I saw Chicago on the news. Ouch!
Jen, That sounds so appealing right about now.
Pat, I'd love to live in Rome for a while.
Nice picture but a thought in mind. What if there was ice on the path.
Yes, happy memories. We bought our picnic from the bakery behind the flower stalls and ate it sitting underneath the central statue.

Hi Wendy,
Giordano Bruno had some bad times at the Campo, but nowadays it's an excellent place to stroll around!
Have a great week!
